So, this is an adaption of the song "Hey There, Delilah" by Plain White T's. Mostly different lyrics, one verse is the same. It's to the same tune as "Hey There, Delilah".

Hey there, my dear friend
What's it like in your new city
I'm a thousand miles away, but girl
You know I'm not forgetting
Me and you
The sun can't shine the way we do
I swear it's true

Hey there, my dear friend
Don't you worry about the distance
I'm right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listen
Close your eyes
Listen to my voice, it's my disguise
I'm by your side

Oh, we'll cross the boundaries
Oh, we're just perfect, you and me
Oh, we'll cross the boundaries
Oh, we're just perfect, you and me
Just perfect, you and me

Hey there, my dear friend
You might look up at the stars
And wonder if we'll ever meet again
To make a fresh new start
Well, I can say
Someday we'll blow the world away
Just you wait

Hey there, my dear friend
We've got so much left to say
If I could bring you home with just a word
I'd do it right away
We'd have it all
We'd have our life before our fall
We'd show them all

Oh, we'll cross the boundaries
Oh, we're just perfect, you and me
Oh, we'll cross the boundaries
Oh, we're just perfect, you and me

A thousand miles seems pretty far
But I know you'd walk that and more
Just to be the girl who did what no one could
The world will all make fun of us
But please, just laugh it off because
We know that they are wrong and we are good
My old friend, I promise you
Someday we'll make our breakthrough
And the world will never ever be the same
And we're to blame

Hey there, my dear friend
You be good and don't you miss me
To all the people who will tease you
Just don't say anything
Just walk away
And when you're feeling down, just say
You and me will always be okay
Hey there my dear friend, please stay
You'll be okay

Oh, we'll cross the boundaries
Oh, we're just perfect, you and me
Oh, we'll cross the boundaries
Oh, we're just perfect, you and me
Just perfect, you and me
