So, since the site seems to be more active than it was a few months ago, I've decided to bring the spotlight back. (It's also a nice thing to have for NaPoWriMo).

So, since it's been a while and we have some new members, here's a crash course in what the spotlight is. Every month, you'll be asked to suggest the best pieces you read in the writing forum. They can be poems, lyrics, short stories, novel chapters, experimental writing, visual art, essays, scripts, and so on.

Also, writing guides from the Guides and Quick Tips sub-forum and poetry from the NaPoWriMo sub-forum are eligible.

There are some restrictions, though.

YOU CANNOT SUGGEST YOURSELF AND YOU CAN ONLY SUGGEST PIECES FOR THE APPROPRIATE MONTH.

That means that for this spotlight you can only suggest pieces that were posted in April. Not in March, not in May. Just April. So, please pay attention to when something was posted or I will eat you.

About a month from now I'll post the actual spotlight, and then I'll open up the May suggestions thread. Everyone got that? Good, I'll only be repeating myself every single month.

Happy suggesting!

Pro Tip: You can see the date of a post above the username of the person who posted it. The date is written out MM-DD-YYYY. If the first two numbers are 03, you're not suggesting something from this month.

There, now there's no excuse to post something from the wrong month, and when it inevitably happens anyway, you have no one to blame but yourself when we mock you endlessly.

Pro-tip: because my first instinct is to procrastinate anything I see as an obligation or responsibility, asking me for a critique is a good way to make sure I never give you a critique.

Omg I'm sorry dabs. How do I check the month on pieces? Because I always thought that since they were closer to the top they were recent haha.

My bad

I will change my post very soon when I have a computer near by instead of my iPod and it's tiny screen.

It says the date in the upper left-hand corner of the post.

Edit: The ones closest to the top are the ones that were most recently posted in. But that could mean anything. A thread that was started in 2008 could be at the top if someone posted in it today.
